Scott's tip of forcing Safari to download is also useful for avoiding
"Safari busy" messages and freezes. Here's the link to an earlier
list discussion thread about different ways to force downloads,
including using option-click on a link. Some general purpose
utilities, like Onyx, can also change the default action for specific
file types (like PDF files) to download instead of display in
web pages.
