Hey all, Josh, thanks very much for your reply yesterday. I
certainly understand about being busy on the holidays. So no
worries. That was exactly why I wrote the list, I'm really needing to
have something up and running ASAP as I'm leaving in less than a week
and will be gone until Christmas.
Am juggling crazy scheduling with shoots / family / friends so need
a quick way to be in touch all the time, as I'll have my lil Mac with
me everywhere I go. <smile> :) My web access will be varied /
sporadic so I'll need to set something up in the next couple of days
if I can.
So here are my questions. First off, can someone else give me a
very simple quick lil run down on what is happening to allow msn
access with IChat? How I understand it is that IChat is connecting to
a jabber account, and then from there, somehow the jabber account is
connecting to an msn server?...
If this is the case, all I'll need is a very brief list of steps or
software and I'll take care of the rest. As far as access, I'm not
concerned with that right now. I'll have sighted assistance for the
next couple of days so that won't be an issue. I just need to get
something up and running where I can access msn on the road, as I need
to do some crazy scheduling on the fly, and the quickest way will be
with msn. I'd rather not need to do the windows thing to make up for
the lack of access, and would much rather see about having this work
on the Mac side of things if I can...
I'd rather not install a Jabber server on my Macbook unless that is
the only way that this can work. I'd rather do the simplest thing I
can right now and just get it going, if that's possible.
The simpler the better right now, however, I'll do what I need to.
And, am not opposed to doing the server thing later in any case...
god what a horrible sentence! lol! Sorry for the haphazard nature of
this note! lol!
