I've used dual-layer DVDs and have had no problems with the DVD drive
in the Mac. I'm referring to the Super drive the dual-layer burner
nodle. Now do yourself a favor and buy good quality DVDs to start
with, not the off-brand DVDs, it does matter.

Hi Shaun,
I don't know about the level of support for DVD writing on these new
drives, and even if you can do it, there may be issues of reliability.
There are some DVD movies that have been produced with dual
layer technology. I'd check first how one of these drives plays them.
Even for commercially produced DVDs of this type, there can be
quality control issues. Someone I know had problems with the
movie "L.A. Confidential" that was issued as a dual layer DVD
because in one part the "layer" for one part of the movie didn't play
cleanly. That was some years ago, but I wouldn't entrust my
data DVDs to this format without a whole lot more information (smile).
I'd also check out media reliability reports before buying any blanks.
And these drives may just work currently for playing pre-recorded
dual-layer DVDs.
Cheers,
Esther

What does double layered mean?
That it will play DVDs that are double laired.
To be exact, Dan means that the Super Drive can handle the newer
DVD formats where the data is written in two layers on the disc
instead
of just one, doubling the storage capacity.

Hello,
The Mac mini does not come with a Keyboard and Mouse. It is
necessary to order those at the time of purchase. Or if you
already
have them, you will not need to order them. But the Apple
Standard
keyboard would probably be best.
Also, you can get a Wireless keyboard and Mouse.
Additionally be aware that the Mac mini has a few other options
to
consider at purchase.
It comes with 1 GB ram but you can order 2 GB.
You can get either a Combo CD drive or a Super CD Drive that
reads
and writes CD and DVD and it is doublelaired.
It has 1 internal speaker. And if you want a screen that's also
something you can purchase. But again, if you already have
either a
VGA or DVI ready monitor, you don't need to purchase a screen.
Also
stereo speakers or headphones can be connected.
If you purchase the Mac mini with the Apple Keyboard and Mighty
Mouse and 2 GB Memory and the Super Drive as well as a 160 GB
hard
drive, it will be around $1300.
