How do i get to my music folder in the home directory? sorry I'm new to the
mac and haven't got any idea of navigating directries.

Hi. It should be recording as you go. Make sure you are infact
recording and not just hijacking. A good way to tell this is to see if
both the hijack and the record timer is running.
BTW, your recorded files will go in the audio hijack folder, which is
under the music folder of your home directory.

OK sorry again but I've managed to sort out how to select the source I
wish to record from and can monitor audio after pressing record. how do
I save any recordings i make? i.e. when i look in the recording bin
there's nothing in it. and if i quit the application i get a warning
that audio hijack is hijacking audio. but no option to save my file.
