I thought the keys might have been rearranged. I imagine then that it might not even be necessary to change the function key setting. Maybe someday, they'll find a way to get rid of the fn key all together.

As well, David, the new macBooks have a similar arrangement of function keys as the new aluminum keyboards so the f10, f11 and f12 are Mute, Down volume and up volume respectively. Another cool addition is that f7, f8, and f9 are set for itunes functions of Prevous, Pause/Play and next. You don't even need to be in iTunes when pressing these keys, it just works whenever.
