Scott,

The manual has good exercises init. you can also use column mode and then
just left arrow without vo backward through the folders you have traversed.

as far as moving character by character, if you are in a document in text
edit, it's vo-shift-left and right arrow. you can also in this instance
just use left and right arrow. Richie gave you the rest on the character by
character movement. how long did it take you to learn windows <?>

Hi.

How do you back out of directory levels on the mac? It seems that
going to the sidebar, interacting with it to find the next item you
want, stop interacting with that, and so on seems quite innificient.
Maybe I just don't have the hang of this mac yet but some things seem
so much simpler in windows.

For instance, I'm not even sure how to get voiceover to spell a word
or read character by character.

A lot of the times on the mac, I just feel like I'm lost. Perhaps
some one on one training is the best way for me to get some basic
concepts on the mac. I've never really been good at reading a manual
and learning in that way. I'm more hands on wit this kind of thing.

Maybe I'm not being patient enough with myself because that's been
known to happen on occation.

Anyway, thanks for any help and allowing me to vent a little if you
want to call it that. lol.

Scott
