Just a humble thought.
Note the trademark registrations under "you've got mail"
2845079
2921866

I can't tell you whether using the recording is trademark infringement, but
trademarks are put in place to protect trademark owners from others
hijacking the source indication of goods and services.

Sure isn't, they don't have copyrights on the voice or the words you've
got mail. I do the research before hand so I can assure you it isn't. If
I name one of my companies AOL then maybe the'y'll have a case.

Yeah, but I like the AOL one. She sounds better than Vicky and I want
her.

Thanks, I will have to do some playing around with these two sites.
The first one just says you've got mail and will not let me interact
and the second one allows me to choose a sound bite and does the same
thing as the first page does. A refresh of both pages results in the
download playing again without any interaction ability from me.

Hi Shaun,
Does anyone know where I can get a MP3 copy of the AOL You've got
mail
sound bite?
Maybe try: http://www.ilovewavs.com/Events/GotMail/Mail03.wav
or other replacement mail phrases from:
http://www.ilovewavs.com/Events/GotMail/GotMail.htm
(Note: these are .wav files, so you'd have to convert or sound
capture to get
them into MP3 form).
Cheers,
