Hi Esther.

Thanks for these nice tips. I haven't got so much time to play around with the podcast feature in Itunes yet.

I'm wandering where you got the subscribe link to Blind Cool Tech from? It looks like a link from the Apple website?

Best regards Søren.

Hi Keith,

There are a couple of ways to get the mp3 files at Blind Cool Tech
to download instead of play. If your VoiceOver cursor is at the link,
and you have routed your Mouse cursor to your VoiceOver cursor,
then doing a Control-click (pressing the control key, and clicking
either the trackpad button on your laptop or the button of your
mouse) will bring up a menu. Arrow down to "save file as". Another
way, again, if your Mouse cursor is at the link, is to use Option- click.
(Press the option key and click with your mouse or trackpad button).
This forces a download to the default location set in your Safari
preferences (probably your Desktop).

These are general Mac sequences and are not VoiceOver specific.

As David mentioned, you can also get the podcasts through iTunes,
if you tab to the sources outline, interact, and VO-keys arrow to the
iTunes Store. Then you can tab to the Search Text Field and type
in "Blind Cool Tech" and carriage return. When you tab to the songs
outline and interact, you'll find the podcast entry. VO-keys right arrow
to the column where you hear "Free". Move your mouse cursor to
your VoiceOver Cursor (VO-keys+Command+F5 or VO-keys+Command+
FN+5), and use VO-keys+shift+spacebar to press this button to subscribe.
A window should come up asking you if you want to subscribe. I just
carriage return if I want to continue. This will start your subscription,
but with the default settings you will only get the latest episode.

Here's another way to get the podcasts using the integration between
web pages and iTunes. Go to the Blind Cool Tech podcast page in the
iTunes Store using this link in your browser:

http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=78111172

When you use this address in Safari, your iTunes will be set to select the iTunes Store in the Sources Outline, and when you tab to the Songs Outline and interact you'll find a list of available podcasts. You can read the episode
names and descriptions. To get specific episodes, interact and use
VO-keys+right arrow to move to the column where you hear "Free". Route your mouse cursor to your VoiceOver cursor, and use VO-keys+shift +spacebar
(or click with your mouse or trackpad) to get the individual episode.

Tab back to the Sources Outline, interact, VO-keys up arrow to "Podcasts". Now if you tab to the Songs Outline and interact, there will be a folder for
Blind Cool Tech podcasts. You can open it with VO-keys+backslash, then
VO-keys+down arrow to play individual episodes.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Esther

P.S. For iTunes I've historically had better luck setting my Mouse Cursor to
track my VoiceOver Cursor, but I'm still using Tiger.
P.P.S. It's easiest to get to the iTunes Podcast page using the web URL if
you already have iTunes open. You may have to use Command+tab to
actually bring iTunes forward if it doesn't show up automatically.
