Stickies/notes and attaching to specific files/apps

Hi folks,
I am wanting to use Stickies, but I wondered if there was a way of  
attaching notes to specific files. For example, if I write an essay  
and I think I have an idea that I like can i put it on a sticky and  
then the next time I open it the note will appear to?

Or if not is there a similar program
