Hi Will, If holding down the eject key didn't work, try restarting your Macbook. After you hear the startup chime, press your trackpad button and keep holding it down. Once the CD ejects you can release the button. (This reportedly takes a while -- more than a minute before anything happens.)
The few times I've had problems ejecting discs when my (Powerbook) was on, I could get them ejected during the restart. You might also let your machine cool down a bit before turning it on again and holding down the trackpad key since sometimes heat can be a factor in the slot drive performance. HTH.
