Hi James,

Different lasers are used for playing CDs and DVDs in the superdrive
so it's possible to have your DVD working and not your CD or vice- versa.
I've had working CD and faulty DVD, which was repaired.

Cheers,

Hi Tim,

I thought it might be, but presumably if it is a faulty drive, it
should not play anything it seems rather picky lol

Thanks

Hi James,

You said: My MacBook CD drive doesn't seem to like playing CDs. It
will play DvDs and data discs, but not audio. it tends to spit them
out Has anyone else noticed this with their MacBook or indeed any Mac?

TK: I suspect you have a faulty drive. This is not normal
behavior. Either call Apple Care or take it to a local Apple
service center.
