find feature in mail

Hi.

I have a problem wit the find feature in mail.  When I hit command f I  
can type in my search string but when I hit command g which is the  
short to find next and then interact with the message, it isn't  
bringing me to the next instance of what I'm looking for.  Any ideas  
on how to make this work better?
