as these kinds of voice recognition packages are designed nreally to

for this system to work effectively for the blind it is obvious of
what needs to be done. the dialogue windows need to interact clearly
with voiceover so that especially in the training sessions, each
word that changes has a script mode change to notify you via
voiceover of word recognised by some form of audio comment. as
well as the ability to read the sentance or word / s individually
and indicate status. this isnt exactly easy.
not that I should mention the windows platform as really that is bad
language and I shall contribute £5 to the swear box...... dragon
naturally speaking, via voice and others required support to read
specific windows, tools and commands so people like T and T
Consultancy. there's another £5 to the swear box created J Say. by
the way just as interest. how J Say came about was due to 3 guys
here in the UK who started the project before Brian Hartgen found
out. brian demanded a take over and then screwed us. and then wrote
the system in the wrong way.
oh well
anyhow I'm sure with some support and clear communication we could
get this application supported with voiceover. I can think of a few
users who would clearly benefit from this application and with the
right support I believe this product would replace all those dismal
attempts at speech packages lol
sorry I'm having a dig at microsoft again. sorry only got £3 to put
in the swear box now lol so I'll stop before I put in I O U's

William,
No, you cannot train it without sighted help. The training process
presents a story on the screen that you are supposed to read to
the computer. As you read the story, the text changes to green if
the computer recognizes it and to red if the text is not
recognized. If the text is not recognized; you need to reread it
to the computer.
Also, there is text that needs to be read to the computer in order
to set microphone level. I don't think either set of text is read
by Voiceover but I'll go back an check.
