I should clarify that "rely on WebKit" in that it relies on WebKit to
render HTML content... it should not make a difference to the Mail.app
beyond that as far as I know.

You may find it worthwhile to run a nightlybuild—it frequently has
some fixes that make some sites actually usable. You can run both
WebKit nightly and Safari on the same machine.
