Hi,
This is what really made me mad. Last week, my login password was suddenly unusable. I called my DSL company and when a technician attempted to help me, it was a no go because even though they reset my password, a window was wanting me to type in the two graphical words. But of course I couldn't do that. So after reading him the riot act about accessibility, he reset the password to what I demanded he set it to. And he said he'd pass on my concerns. Anyway, this is a service I am paying for and I get treated this way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry list, just had to vent a little.

hey dan

I totally agree.

I've come across a form of filtering which is accessible to us. how it works is rather than using a graphic with a series of letters and numbers distorted, the system I have come across is an edit field with a question with an answer underneeth which can be copied and pasted into the edit field. this is the same basis of spam prevention and should be implemented into every web page that requires contact management solutions. that way the form of data handling and filtering is non discriminatory in any level. therefore giving the blind market a chance to use communications etc.

it really gets on my thingy bobs when some total idiot designs a website, doesnt label graphics, doesn't give header navigation or stuff all. then to find that contacting the user or company etc is impossible with this STUFFIN CAPTCHA code. what a chuffin waste of time lol

best thing is to get a snooker ball and cue and fire the bloomin ball in an area of the guy concerned that will really bring a tear to the eyes. sorry my humour is a bit west lol cant help it.

lets put a stop to this. a FULL STOP!

ban captcha ban captcha ban the stuffin thing lol

Hello,
They are supposed to stop automated spammers and other unwanted stuff from using their systems. However, in my opinion, that means the consumer who really wants to use it for legitimate reasons. And of course, we the blind are at the top of the list of those they don't want. Or at least that's what it feels like.
Just my ranting thoughts on the subject.

Can anyone tell me what the function of CAPTCHAS is supposed to be? Why are they needed on so many sites? Do they really perform any function other than making it difficult for blind users to access sites?
