Hi all,

Anybody seen my freespace? I went in disk utility and shrunk my MAC HD volume from 120GB to 65 GB, thinking I'd be able to see the other volume with the remaining space in either the finder or the disk/ volume table... But I can't. The only thing I can see is that under Mac HD, in the disk/volume table, there's now a group saying 0 enclosed items. When I interact with that group it says 2 items but I can only see one instance of Mac HD. . Is it because I didn't give my new volume a unique name...

Here's a summary of what I did. I selected my disk, then clicked "partition". Then I went to the size where the default value was 120GB (my entire hard disk). I changed that size to 65 then, clicked apply. Disk utility told me nothing would be erased and took about 3 minutes to do its thing. I rebooted and everything looked ok. Going back in disk utility, I saw my volume (which got smaller as I had requested). But my new volume is nowhere to be found. What I intended to do was to use this new volume to write an image of my disk on it.

I hope I'm being clear enough so somebody can help me get out of this uncertainty.

Thanks in advance.
