Hey Lew,
My experience with Pro Tools III systems is extremely limited. I
used to use it back in college but that was ages ago. I would
imagine version 5 supported it up to 5.1.3. Other than that, I've
never used the 800 series interfaces. I came into the whole thing
first, through an AudioMedia III card which was LE and jumped
straight to the HD3 system and never even touched the Mix stuff
personally. Rick Boggs has loads more experience with them and
certainly Vinny and Chuck have Mix systems but, then again, the
interfaces they have are 888, not 882.

hi jerry its lew
sorry couldnt find your off list email so posting on list.
I have now a G3 beige system which needs a little attention but
it has Pro Tools TDM III version 5 software with the mix core card
and mix farm card. have you used this old system? if so what is
the maximum version that could be upgraded to with outspoken 9 I
ask as I'm wondering if I can get any updates or upgrades still
from digidesign or am I on a lost road? if you could help
somehow I'd really appreciate it. incidentally audio interface for
it is the rackmount 882/20/I.O
its all kitted out. just needs a bit of a clean up and a part
replacing. its that daft DB15 to VGA connector and I cant find one
for love nor money
if you could somehow guide me or point me in the right direction
that would be great. Someone is passing on a G3 blue and white and
my thoughts are to transfer the two cards and pro tools to the
blue and white but I'm aware of the license auth disk. so thats
another thing to look at
