I think it's pretty much a 1:1 ratio. At 1 foot away the captured image
is about 1' wide. At 2' away the captured area is about 2' wide. Can
anyone verify this?

Hi Dennis. I don't know if this is what you're asking or not, but I
know that pictures taken with photo booth are 640 by 480. This is
what it does by default, you may be able to change that.
