Hi David.

This is all great: thank you for taking the time to send these resources.

I'll be back when I learn what it is I have to ask (smile) and these links will help a great deal.

Cheers.

Vaughan.

Hi Vaughan!

It's nice to see you on the list all the way from New Zealand!

Here's a couple of things you can look at:
http://www.icanworkthisthing.com
http://www.screenlessswitchers.com
and:
http://www.lioncourt.com
all of them either have or link to the types of things you need. In
addition, if you haven't found it yet, command-control-option-f8 will launch
a quickstart tutorial to show you the underpinnings of how voice over works.

there is also a voice over list:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] I don't know exactly how to subscribe off hand
but if you go to
http://www.freelists.com
you can find it there.

Also, don't hesitate to look at its archives and I hope someone posts the
info on how to get the up to date archives of this list too.

We're here to help so if you need info, don't struggle too hard to get it,
just ask.

Enjoy and again, welcome!

Subject: Getting Started with my Mac

Hello everyone.

Today I own a new Mac Book. So far: based on my very limited
knowledge, I have VoiceOver working with my braille display (after a
fashion.)'

So as not to clutter up the list with senseless questions which
everyone asks, can I be pointed to the step by step guides to
learning to use the Mac?

I am prowling through the ACB Radio material, but its value is
(unfortunately) quite limited as I think I need a beginner's manual
if such a beast has been written.

First impressions are great: I loved the fact that my Braille display
was recognised instantly, that the machine started up and went into a
useful state quickly and the keyboard is so nice and quiet.

All help and advice for useful resources gratefully received.

Thanks.

Vaughan.
