Great: it was the promise of consistency across applications which was one of the positive considerations. Have run the tutorial: Certainly a good basis for getting started.

Now for a really silly question: My machine has an internal drive, and it is easy to insert the cd or other media into the slot on the right hand side. However: I cannot find out how to eject a disk. I thought that there should be a panel near the slot, which just requires some gentle pressure, but maybe not.

Thanks again.

Vaughan.

Ask away...most of the time one question answers another because the
navigation is across the platform instead of every application having
its own. Press control, option, command F8 and go through the tutorial.

Hello everyone.

Today I own a new Mac Book. So far: based on my very limited
knowledge, I have VoiceOver working with my braille display (after a
fashion.)'

So as not to clutter up the list with senseless questions which
everyone asks, can I be pointed to the step by step guides to
learning to use the Mac?

I am prowling through the ACB Radio material, but its value is
(unfortunately) quite limited as I think I need a beginner's manual
if such a beast has been written.

First impressions are great: I loved the fact that my Braille
display was recognised instantly, that the machine started up and
went into a useful state quickly and the keyboard is so nice and
quiet.

All help and advice for useful resources gratefully received.

Thanks.

Vaughan.
