This is my suggestion.
Download Final Vinyl 2.5.1, it's a free recording application and it
will allow you to listen to linein. There is a button in the main
screen that will toggle between mute and monitor. It no longer
requires the iMic USB audio interface to operate.
Do a search for
final vinyl os x 10.5.2
Or.
final vinyl 2.5.1
