Hi guys,

I finally figured out, after a bit of frustration, how to install programs on my Mac.
last night and this afternoon I installed the following:
BitRocket and Skype.

I have Transmission also installed, but I can't sort out how that one works...

Anyway. Neither BitRocket or Skype seem to be working.

In the case of Skype, it simply can not make a connection to, wherever it is it connects to, the Skype network I'd guess. And as for BitRocket, I can open torrent files and have done so. However the status seems to be stuck on "Announcing" and nothing else seems to be going on. The progress is at 0 and has remained there.

At first I thought BitRocket was just not having any luck finding the torrents, but once Skype said it too couldn't connect, this has made me think that Mr. Mac has a firewall or some such thing in place and is blocking information from going out or comming in.

The other computers in the house can connect to MU torrent and anything else you'd want. They are windows computers, don't know if that matters... So I'm thinking it's something in the settings of Mr. Mac here.
A port needs to be unblocked or something.

I'm still kinda dumb with all these ports and things, so I hope one of you lovely people out there can help me out by explaining, in simple non-nerdy terms how to set up these two programs so they work right.

Thanks very much for any help!

Jenny
