Once you've configured your mail accounts and what not, you can re-
imported those mail boxes you backed up.
This probably sounds complicated, but it's likely easier then re-
installing the whole OS.

Mail app, preserve the mailboxes and messages while correcting
the issue of not being able to tab back and forth. What advice
can any of you offer to accomplish this?
