gmail in mail 3.2?

Hi guys.  I'm setting up a gmail in the current version of mail just  
to see if it works, and behold, it does not.  Does any one happen to  
know the ports and authentication/security settings gmail can use?   
I'm thinking this is just my terrible isp being it's usual irritating  
self and not allowing it through, but I want to be sure.
