Hi Hayden,To delete files hold down the command/apple key with the backspace key which is above the enter key.
As far as I understand it, the "cut" feature is greed out because it it all to easy for people both sighted and blind to cut something and forget to paste it. This seems to be a generic Apple thing, except where text is concerned.
