How do I add contacts in IChat?

Hey all. I am trying to figure out how to add a contact in IChat. The  
thing is, I can't figure out where the edit field is to put people's  
screen names in. It appears to not show up. All I hear is "combo box."  
What do I need to do to get the screen name in? Thanks for the help.
