Hey again Scott, yes, IChat will work with these networks but only
through a Jabber server. (as I'd alluded to previously)
I use it for msn all the time.
As far as reading the conversation though, you'd still need to
interact with an html area which is located right next to the typing
edit field, or I believe you can simply press VO J to jump directly,
but I'm not sure at the moment. I usually just nav there. :)
I personally have the option for the system to speak incoming
messages enabled, so I usually don't need to bother rereading. You
can also do this in Adium as well.

CQ :)

Does iChat work with msn messenger and icq?
I found adium to be quite difficult to configure meaning you have to
interact with the html content to read the message replies. This is
not too cool and i want something that just has a simple edit box
where the text appears.
Does ichat have this?

Hey Scott, IChat is accessible, and it works with more than just
AOL. It works with .Mac and Jabber as well, and may also work with
more, but I haven't dug that deeply into it. By setting up a Jabber
server on your machine, you can use any number of other supported
protocols / networks as well. However, some may consider this a
security issue, and as there is Adium at this point, which is also
accessible, the server alternative may not be right for some.
I personally really like IChat, as it's very fast and responsive;
with a very simple clean interface.
HTH and catch ya on the flippers!…

Didn't know what iChat was capable of doing.

Hi John, if you type in those combo boxes, you can put in the
screenname. HTH

Hey all. I am trying to figure out how to add a contact in
IChat. The thing is, I can't figure out where the edit field is

I hear is "combo box." What do I need to do to get the screen
name in? Thanks for the help.
