Actually I had the latest vlc from the vidiolan website.
I honestly did search through all the preferences and just found the way the
references table was strange in itself and also under the file menu under I
think it was called interfaces or somewhere where it said shoutcast radio
listings or something, this option didn't appear to be accessable.
Also on the main window of vlc there are some checkboxes and no lables or
help text to tell you what the checkboxes were for.
I also figured well if iTunes works and it does what I want then stay with
it.

hmm, wonder what version you have and how you have it configured. I have
not heard this issue before and took it for a spin a while back. I agree
though, we have ITunes and except for .wma files, it gives us everything
we
want and for wma I think flip for mac works.

HI all.
I've decided to ditch vlc. It's actually a load of crap and iTunes works
much better.
There's unfortunately too many features taht don't work in vlc and iTunes
works a lot lot better.
Vlc needs more work.
Long live iTunes.
Vlc has too many options that don't seem to speak too well and the
preferences layout in vlc is one of the weirdest preferences dialogs i've
ever seen on the mac.
