Couple interesting bits before this thread goes away:
1. I know a number of folks who were working to set up an internet cafe
in Pearlington Mississippi, which was pretty much destroyed by recent
floods. So they were asking what they would need to make one or two
workstations accessible and were told to buy two copies of Jaws. Of
course this is all being done by donated time and computers so dropping
$2500 for two licenses made them balk. So I said why not put in some
Macs since they come with a screen reader for free. All I heard was
crickets chirping and then they said, we only use Windows. Good luck
with that.
2. My company has a USB Jaws key which works nice when traveling with a
laptop. It even worked with Jaws running under Parallels on my MacBook.
There was still the usual video intercept issue but web browsing worked
just fine.
3. Speaking of video intercept, there have been updates to Jaws,
WindowsXP (SP3) and Parallels but I still get the same problem where the
Jaws video intercept clobbers the Parallels video and I have to
reinstall the Parallels Tools to get things running again. VMWare and
Sun's Virtual Box do not have this problem.
4. There was a question about Jaws lisc. transfers and how you had to
pay to do this. I couldn't find any info on Freedom's site so apparently
they don't make the process/fees information public. This is a bit
unusual as most software has a transferability section to the agreement
which say that if you turn over all the books, media, serial numbers and
rights to the software you can transfer it to somebody else. I guess as
the copyright owner FS has the right to limit what you can do with their
stuff. If they wanted to limit you to only running it on tall computers
with bumpy cases that would be their prerogative. Not a good idea, but
it's their stuff. Fees for transferring licenses also seems like a bad
idea, but it's their right to do that as well.

OMG! I know this is OT, but D*MN what a scam this seems like! You
pay to buy, you pay to upgrade, and then pay again to sell?! lol!
This is crazy! -Buying / upgrading are understandable, but who in
their right mind would pay for the privilege of selling something
like this.
anyway, just my thoughts, and thanks for the laugh! lol!
Now, how to possibly make this Mac-related?… uh, let's see, -Glad
VO is free, and not caught up in this kind of racket?!…
Anyway, have a great day!…

I'd love to offload mine too, but if you want to sell it or give it
away you have to pay a transfer fea, and in order to get the
transfer fea you have to upgrade to the latest version. Mine's 3.5
which shows you how long it's been since I used it lol. I think I
even threw out the discs and manuals and just kept the serial number
in case some one ever wanted it.
Actually, I feel kind'a bad selling it to some one even though it
would be current bytime they got it because it's so terrible now and
so expensive. I just hate to do that to some one, lol.

Does anyone know of anyone who would want an older version of Jaws?
I have Jaws 6.0, and I am trying to get rid of it.
