Yes, I've been typing washington in for 3 years now.  The only problem is 
that if your city is not in the list, your widgets and other geo centric 
items will be off.

TK:  Navigate to the field for the closest city.  Simply type in the
first few characters of the closest major city such as b-o-s for
Boston or n-e-w for New York.  If that doesn't narrow it down enough,
type in a few more characters.  It does not have every city in the
DataBase but any major city in that Time Zone should do.
