Janet, With all due respect, VoiceOver is part of the operating system on the Mac. This server you're talking about is for Windows-based machines, only. And because VoiceOver is a fully-functioning, talking interface for the Mac, there would be no need for web-based access for it. In other words, if the library has a Mac, and a blind person would want to use it, he/she can turn the talking interface on or off, in order to get whatever information he/she needs from a public Mac. I hoped that I have helped to explained the access difference between Mac and Brand X, and how the two systems handle and process information. Richie Gardenhire, Anchorage, Alaska.

hi. public servers get it and install it. then their computers, say, at the airport, or library, or wherever, becomes accessible. It is a browser reader. For public access. Apparently one can read email, look up bus schedules, or find the phone number for restaurants, among other tasks, from a public computer like at the library.

something different. I wasn't sure if folks on this list had heard of it, so I just wanted to share it. I just heard about it myself.

just sharing. But you are right. It has nothing to do with Mac, per se, unless the public computer is a Mac with the screen reader turned off? Not sure how that'd work.

and you can't get there from here anyway. In other words, if it is web
based and there is no screen reader on the system.....?

From what I have read, it only works on Windows-based machines. I
don't think it works on the Mac; at least, it didn't say it did.
