All systems are go here. It did require a lot of sighted help
though. It wouldn't read multiple messages from a single user unless
they were separated by a message from me because it was blocking them
all together and VO was only reading one message in each block. We
fixed this by changing the theme to one that blocks off each message
individually.
Growl is great too. I still can't set everything up myself so for now
thank God for screen sharing. I'm getting really excited that I'm not
being forced to install windows!

My experience with Adium is that it will read the message as it
comes in, but if I miss it, I have no way to access it again.
I've read something about reading it through the chat transcripts
but I can't work out what this means. My sighted husband found
chat transcripts, but we can't seem to get it to read unless we
read the whole window. Also, it reads time stamps. is there a way
to switch this off?
Cheers,

Hi, it doesn't seem this version is any different to the one I
downloaded a few days ago. I can't get it to read messages if I
stay in the window, and sometimes when I move the window to the
front, it changes the layout and there is no longer html to
interact with.
Is there something I'm sadly missing here? I really need
something that works with my MSN contacts or I'll be forced to
install windows, I really don't want to do that.
Thanks,
Jess
