Hi Jane,
I didn't notice an answer to your question on the list although by now you may have found it on your own. I haven't been following the list closely so just saw the message. However, if you are still wondering, typing option-return in the edit fields will give you the new-line. option-tab will work for tabs, and often some combination using option will get you what you want.
Hope that helps,
Greg

I have a text file that has a lot of line breaks, or new line characters. Because of that, the flow of reading is interrupted. How do I find the charactersfor new-line and replace them with a space? I should say, what do I need to type into the find box that represents a new-line?

Jane
