It's ok, I'm not too concerned about getting the thing to play. I just
figured it was something I was originally doing wrong, but undoubtedly
not.

Some players are more tolerant of issues in the file. If the file is one
you downloaded can you get it again and/or send out a link so others can
try? I guess this is what others have said. For some reason I keep
receiving stuff from this mailing list out of order.

It's kind a weird. Nothing'll play this file except winAmp. I tried
another one though and it worked fine.

MIDI files play just fine for me with QuickTime player. Actually,
after downloading one it opens by default in QuickTime Player with no
conversion and such. Are you sure your MIDI file is good?

Guys,
I am still totally batheled on this. I need a good midi player for
the mac. when I hit command o, quick time comes up and says it's not
a valid movie file.
When I googled, I saw that quick time will play midi files but you
first have to convert 'em to movie files. I don't wanna do that. Is
there not a player that I could use that will just open and straight
outta the box play? Remember, this is Tiger 10.4.11
Chris.
