Actually getting to CalTrain from bart is way easier than that.
Simply take bart all the way to Millbray and then switch over to
CalTrain directly from there. It saves a whole other step.

Well, you would fly into San Jose International Airport, if that's
possible. That's the nearest airport to Cupertino. If not, there
is also Oakland International and San Francisco International.
From San Jose International, you would get a shuttle bus right to
Cal Train, and Cal Train heading north, toward San Francisco, stops
in Cupertino along the way. From there, not sure. Have to check.
Most likely any cab driver knows where the Apple Facility is, I
would think.
From Oakland International, there are shuttles to BART, and BART
goes to San Francisco, to the Embarcadero Station, where you can
get Muni Metro, either N-Judah or T-Third, to Cal Train, heading
south, and stops in Cupertino.
From San Francisco International, same thing. BART goes right to
the airport there. Get off at the Embarcadero station, take Muni N-
Judah or T-Third to Cal Train.
You can board the Muni right inside the Embarcadero BART station.
There's a booth right when you exit BART, with a person inside to
ask. Tell them you want the MUNI to the Cal Train Station, and
they can tell you how to board it.
It's all still underground at that point. You're still inside the
station. It's just that Muni runs one level up from BART, on
different tracks. And then surfaces to the city streets before the
next stop, heading the direction toward Cal Train, anyway. The
other direction, it stays underground for quite a few stations
before surfacing to city streets. The Cal Train stop is the end of
the line for N-Judah and it's the 4th & King stop for the T-Third.
Same stop for both Metro trains.

pull this off, figure out housing logistics, etc.
If there is anything I can do to help let me know.
I don't know the bay area all that well, but know people who do.
Not sure how close to Cupertino they live, but can find out.

Another idea might be that some very knowledgeable people who
really
know their VO and possibly other products would demonstrate what
blind
people actually could do with a Mac and ask for some sort of
cooperation to help solve the problems that are there. Does it make
sence?

I live in a dinky little apartment! But something could be
arranged
somehow!
I did a map directions search from our place to the facility. It
is
just
over 71 miles, and 1 hour 25 minutes travel time driving, one way.
Because
of driving through the city.
So I'm not sure we're the most convenient of locations. We do
have
friends
who live closer to Cupertino who might be willing to allow us to
use
their
house as a base. We'd have to do some checking.

We live about 70 miles north of Cupertino.
Just brainstorming.

Sure. Cupertino, here I come. LOL. :) I have to go up to the
bay
area
in October, so how about it? :)
I wish there was a way we could all camp out, but somehow I
doubt
it
would be effective.

Hi CB, there are two ways this could be done. Apple could
engineer an ui
and back it with vo or a 3rd party could develop an app
that
talks. there
is a hardware device for the IPod called ITel I think that
achieves at least
part of this for the IPod.

So out of curiosity, how would you make an iPhone
accessible?
Obviously
it needs a speech engine, but how do you interact? There
is no
tactile
UI. I think it's a lot like a touch screen kiosk and some
have
simple
instructions saying to touch the top left for yes or top
right
for no.
That kind of interaction model doesn't scale very well for
complex
interaction like typing an email . Not making excuses for
Apple
but this
seems like a tough nut to crack.
