Chris,
I don't have a Tiger machine here at home so I'm not sure if this
appears the same in Tiger Mail but when I try it with Leopard Mail, I
noticed the following:
• If the Preview Pane is on, there are two Horizontal splitters when
navigating right past the Messages Table.
• When Preview Pane is off, there is Mail Activity items between the
two splitters.
• To make the Preview Pane disappear, double-click on the second one,
not the first one.
