Are you trying to remove and reinstall iTunes or are you simply trying
to remove iTunes all together.

What are Apple's package management tools for the mac? The iTunes
application is non-functional now and if this were debian I'd have
done an aptitude remove --purge iTunes long ago. For the
uninitiated what aptitude remove --purge iTunes would do is to
remove iTunes and everything iTunes uses on the system and purge all
configuration files for all of those applications. Libraries/
frameworks as they're called in the windows world would also be
removed. Then with aptitude I could do aptitude install iTunes -r
and reinstall iTunes and all of its dependencies cleanly. Putting
packages is not a good colution for package management problems that
arise on the mac. So I'm hoping some powerful package management
tools are available even if I have to use the terminal to run them
for this and other jobs.
