Hi Jane,
Thanks so much for those suggestions! I think yahoo has offices in
Burbank, but don't have any contacts to work with there.
If the whole Cupertino thing ends up happening I will probably go up
for it, even though I am sure the apple campus isn't worth the trip
the opportunity to meet with apple's accessibility team probably would
be.
Will check into the plane and buss tickets if this really looks like
it's going to happen!

Hey Olivia;
First off, it doesn't make sense to drive up from LA. The cost of
gas is
insane. I was considering driving up to SF for WWDC last month but
the plane
ticket (with virgin america) ended up being cheaper. You might want
to look
into one of those bargain buses if neither is an option, I remember
a new
bus service going from LA to SF for as little as $5 if you purchase
fast
enough: http://www.cashuttlebus.com/
Secondly, I don't know. If you're in LA (me too), there have already
been a
few BarCamps and other events in general, and there's also a
cocoaheads
here. I don't think Apple has any offices here, but there are the
Apple
Stores, and there's also the possibility of finding sponsors and
renting out
a venue, or if someone here works at an office, to see if it's
possible to
borrow a few offices for a weekend - it's been done at the likes of
AOL and
Mahalo, but since this is about accessibility and not tech in
general I'm
not sure how that would fly with them. Maybe Yahoo, if someone knows
some
contacts..maybe google..I'm honestly not sure. It's been a while
since I've
been at an Apple Store, but the one at the grove has a pretty big
theatre
with chairs...
Those are just a few of my ideas.
cheers,
jane

I will keep in mind what you said about the appple campus; you are
probably
correct there.
I'm curious, where would you suggest hoasting some kind of camp?
I'm sure that there are plenty of people like myself who aren't
active in
NFB or ACB, and, who, therefore, don't go to their conventions.
So, how
would we get some kind of apple accessibility camp going that would
include
those of us who don't really subscribe to the blindness
organizations?
I am curious, and would be interested in any ideas you have to
suggest.
