I'm using a Macbook, 2.16 GHZ 2 GB/ram running Fusion. I set up the
VM in Fusion as a Ubuntu machine. Booting off the CD is fine, it's
not until I try to use Orca that the sound goes crazy. If I
physically boot off the CD, all is fine.
Thanks for any help, I'd really love to play around more with Orca.

Subject: Re: linux on my mac
I recently tried installing Ubuntu via Fusion and couldn't get Orca
to talk. I could hear the nice Ubuntu welcome sound and other
sounds, but Orca only seemed to cause my sound card to emit this
very loud, painful screeching sound. I'm not sure if the problem
has to do with the synth contained on the Ubuntu CD, or something I
might have misconfigured though. I hope someone might have figured
out how to get this working.
