Keyboard concerns resetting config

Good morning, Have tried to switch modes, and have run in to a new  
problem, one which is probably config related... When I use the  
keyboard help, f- 6 7 and 8 are now silent. trying to access the  
voiceover menu is ineffective at this time. I'm using the imac so  
don't think there's an fn key... Thanks again everyone.
