Thanks again. This really is a top notch screen reader, considering
it's only in it's second generation. Hats off to the folk at apple for
getting it as far as they have considering it's relatively short life.
This will probably clear up after a retooling of leopard and I'll be
more aware of my environment so as to avoid any mechanical slips. All
part of learning. <smile>

right, if you interact with a web pabe and use the control-option-

I'm some what technically minded, having used a number of windows
systems with Jaws and windoweyes. I really think that a major part of
this regardless of system oops's is as a result of being very new in
this environment. I'll kill the fly with the shotgun this afternoon,
reinstall from scratch, since I can, and at this point learning the os
and screen reader is enough to get started with. <smile> I think that
one of the roots of my difficulties is the engrained habit of having
windows instincts, but this in time will pass:).

I don't recall what system and os you have. I'm not sure how to

how to look to track down the issues or where to start at any rate.
It
could be partly that you are new. what computers have you used
before? how
technically minded are you? you need to do a good deal of exploring
if the
results of exploration make sense to you. Other than that , There
is lots
of info you probably already know about on:

It seems to me though that at least part of your situation has to do
with
something that knowing how to use vo will not fix.

Thanks, david. Being completely new to all this, my next question
would be where do I start looking?
Because I have just begun browsing the os and am getting the lay of
the land, troubleshooting and where to look are amongst the current
mysteries for me.
Thanks in advance for any further suggestions from the list, you
folks
are a great help!Î

Firefox will not help. Safari is the best we have and most pages
load
quickly for me. It seems as though there is something going on with
your
system that is causing this strange behavior. On the Mac, certain
apps and
their configurations can introduce instabilities. We'd have to work
hard to
pin this down.

Hi folks. Was wondering if there are any other settings I need to
change in order to get text that surrounds links when browsing? I
have
already turned on the Highlight links with tab feature. Also, when I
do a find or a vo find, I don't seem to be routed to the place where
the text should be.
Thanks for any suggestions! I think there's just something I don't
yet
understand about the mechanics of this new way of browsing yet, so I
may be making simple errors.
I've also noticed that Safari takes it's own time when pulling up
the
item chooser or the links list, has anyone experienced more
quickness
with firefox?
Take care all, and thanks again for any suggestions.÷÷÷÷∂
