Dear Simon, Will, and Others,
This seems ridiculous, but the current page for purchasing
Assistiveware's products from the UK is inaccessible using VoiceOver
with Safari -- there is NO ALT LABEL or other information that
identifies the link you need to press to fill out your order at the
page you reach once you select your country. If you choose the link
for "United Kingdom" there is indeed no obvious payment link. Under
Leopard, you should be able to use VO-shift-U to view the destination
URL of the link when graphical links are unlabeled or otherwise
unidentified, but in Tiger I have to copy the URL and paste it into
TextEdit to view it.
For anyone else in this situation, the payment link to click is the
otherwise unidentified "link image" following the description of Kagi
payment options and before the numbered instructions for how to place
the order. The link should go to something like:
http://store.kagi.com/?15T_LIVE&lang=en
where I have pasted in the result of copying the URL from the link on
the:
http://www.assistiveware.com/purchaseonlinekagi.php
page. You can fill out the details of your order there.
Since I don't recall previous problems purchasing from the U.S. pages
for AssistiveWare Infovox products, I also checked those links (to
Origin Instruments), and they appear to be accessible. However, only
a subset of the Infovox iVox voices are listed in the drop-down menu
for the language pack add-ons at that site: American English,
American Spanish, Canadian French, British English, French, and Spanish.
I'm cc'ing this to David Niemeijer in hopes of getting these pages
fixed. Potential visually disabled customers for VisioVoice should
not have to use Windows as their only recourse to buying this product
for the Mac.
Cheers,
Esther

Dear Will,
I have had endless frustrating problems attempting to buy both
Visiovoice and Infovox Ivox via the Assistivware website using
Voiceover. It is rather ironic. I too couldn't finalise my
purchases and in utter fury and frustration I switched to buying
both via Windows platform using Internet Explorer. It's truly
pathetic!. I'm afraid I was too tired and fed up to complain to
Assistiveware directly although I feel I should have done. I always
hit a limit to do with complaining - I guess I take pity on people.
Try using Windows and Internet Explorer. This is all bad news for
Mac and Voiceover and/or maybe assistiveware.
With best wishes
Simon
