Hi Alex, I appreciate the detailed reply. I still am not sure, however, of how to begin the installation process. That is, is there supposed to be an installer that comes as part of the down-load, does one click on the Open Office application icon, or what? I do not see an installer in my downn-load, which is what prompted my request for help in the first place.
Thanks again. It is a pretty straight forward installer, just click continue at the first prompt. At the lisence, click continue, do not use the I aggree button, and a dialoge will appear asking you to aggree or disagree. I find this easier. Click "Agree" and then it will take you to the page where it says "choose install location". Use Macintosh HD", unless you want to install to another disk or partition, and then click the Macintosh HD" button, and proceed to click "Continue". Then, click "Install" to begin installing. I can't remember if it asks you to register then, but click "Register Later", unless you want to fill out Open Office's Registration. It may ask you to register upon first start up, I don't remember off the top of my head. When the installer completes, you will hear a sound. tab around and hit "Close". Then go to "Spotlight", (CMD + "Space") and type "Openoffice". You can now enjoy the free Suite of office Applications. Hope this helps, E-mail me if you need further assistance and I will look it up, Thanks for listening, Alex, On 18-Aug-08, at 8:33 PM, Bejarano, Rafael P. wrote: > Hello, > > I am writing to request assistance from any of you who have > successfully installed Open Office on an Intel Imac.
