Hi Luke,

It is possible to use mouse keys with macbook. press fn+f6 and that should
lock you into the hardware condition you seek. In other words, a number pad
embedded into the keyboard. If you want to do anything else with that part
of the keyboard though, you have to turn off numlock. You can set mousekeys
in prefs under universal access utility. it works just like windows in that
there is a hot key that when pressed 5 times turns it on and off.

Subject: MacBook keyboards and mouse keys.

Greetings all,
I will be taking delivery of a new MacBook Pro 15 inch early next week, and
can't wait to start using it. In the meantime, I ordered a copy of Leopard
for one of my older PowerPC based macs, and started playing around with it,
including mouse keys.

I am likely to use mouse keys on my MacBook in the future, especially since
I will also use magnification on and off. However, it appears the mouse keys
are on the numeric keypad. Since this is my first apple notebook, I am not
aware of any numlock functionality which allows a numeric keypad overlaying
part of the existing keyboard.

So firstly is it possible to turn a numlock like function on and off, and
secondly, is there in deed a numeric overlay for use with mouse keys?

Thanks in advance.

Luke
