Yeah, well I've also sent a similar note and got no real response.
Now that you can register the software once it's installed and do it
via the phone, there's little reason not to provide this as an
option. Like I said, if enough folks send e-mail with such a
request, they'll likely be more willing to listen.

Hello,
I wrote a request to Codefactory requesting that they consider
other ways to make the software available. For example, the .cab
files in a zipped file instead of the .exe used in Windows.
I also mentioned that many other blind people are switching to Mac
and that not all of them are running Windows.

Yes and no. You only need the pc or more accurately windows (even
running in a VM) because you need Active Sync which is a MS
product only on windows. If you have the cab file, you can use
Missing Sync or this other syncing app to push it across which
will allow you to install it to the phone. Once we've gotten
around the issue of installing apps on the phone, i.e. Mobile
Speak, then we'll not need Active Sync.
So, hopefully this can be resolved. I think if enough Mac users
told Code Factory we want an alternate install method cause we
don't want to run windows, they will listen and do something.

So you need a PC to install software like Mobile speak as things
stand right now? Correct?

Hi,
No it doesn't, as far as my knowledge goes. MsOutlook doesn't
even have a Mac variant, and the Syncmate application works with
all the native Mac applications.
To answer Scott's question, I don't actually know how to push
installer files accross, never having done this before. I
honestly didn't even know it had this feature until I read the
manual that came with the installed application.
I also think that the link I posted was the Manual. Correct me
if I am wrong.
Thanks for listening,

Just as an additional FYI, I've been trying to use this app,
and it
does seem almost completely accessible with VO. However, I
can't seem
to get it to sync my BlackJack II with my Mac. I can use the
mount
function to explore the phone when it's connected, but so far, -
no
luck with syncage!

Hi,
There is something called Syncmate, that works like the missing
sync, except it is free.

Hello everyone,
I am getting ready to purchase a cell phone. I have not
decided at
this point how far I want to go with the phone. I mean for
example
Talks or Mobile Speaks. A Motorola Q or a Nokia N75 or n82 for
example.
But my big questions are these.
1. Is it necessary to use Missing Synch when working with file
transfers and the like? if so, how well does Missing Synch
work
with VoiceOver under Leopard?
2. Generally, what phones work best with Mac under Leopard,,
not
Windows?
Thanks in advance for any of your thoughts.
