I just got a new motorola Q (the latest model) How would I go about getting my mac and Q working together with bluetooth? This is my first experience with bluetooth, so I would love any tips on getting started.
Thanks, Olivia

Not to worry Tifany.

To let you know, the bluetooth for both cell phones and computers are the same. There are different kinds of bluetooth styles, but what makes them different is the classes they have. Their is class 1, and class 2. Don't worry about the specifics of the bluetooth, as long as you see the profile your friend mentioned, you are good to go. Just make sure to have someone read the back of the box, and the profiles will be listed there.

Most of the bluetooths today, have the pofile you are looking for. So, I would not worry about it to much. It is always good to check though.

I wonder what my friend meant then? He said one without the a2dp
would work but not as I wanted it too. Maybe, that's the difference
between one made for mobile phones and one for computers? donno. But
thanks and sorry if this is a bit offtopic.

Hi Tiffany.

For a bluetooth solution, almost all bluetooths come with the profile
you are looking for.

As for as what you should use for a solution, they are all good. Just really depends on what size, or what kind of bluetooth you would like.

Try the Plantronics 520 if you want Plantronics. Other brands such as
Blueant, Motorola, and so forth, are out there. They will all work
though.

I'm interested in buying a cheap (under $100) bluetooth headset for
use with my Macbook. I'll mostly be using it as headphones and for
skype calls. My friend recommended things made by Plantronics but
when I went to their site to check compatability, their answer was in pdf and wasn't accessible. So can anyone tell me if I can use their
cheaper models with my Macbook? If not, can anyone please suggest
another brand for me? I was told it would have to have something
called a2dp in order to work properly on a computer. Btw, I'm not
fanatical about sound quality. So long as it's clear and doesn't drop
i'm fine.

Thanks,
Tiffanitsa
