Thanks to all of you who responded and thank you Esther for reminding me of audiobook builder. I see now that I will have a use for it, now that I have a nano. I could do with it today as I was importing a book on CD and got just track numbers as Itunes couldn't find the author nor track titles. In addtion, Itunes imported the book in tracks and I would have wished to have had them joined together. Once I have the audiobuilder, and learn how to use it, I shall have to redo this particular book.

With best wishes and still in love with my nano, Simon

Will such M4 files play in Itunes or on a nano ipod?

Yes, Audiobook Builder was one of the resources I mentioned in the list of audiobook related resources I posted recently (in reply to your question about what resources to check for information about things like how to navigate by chapters through iTunes Store or Audible audiobooks).

Cheers,

Hi
For a really good Mac program to do this, take a look at Audiobook Builder from www.splasm.com. It's $10 and will do what you want, and even put chapter marks in the m4b files. Note though that M4B files with chapter marks have a maximum length of approximately 12 hours, so in that case multiple m4b files will have to be created. This is something Audiobook Builder will handle for you automatically. Oh and it's perfectly accessible. I don't know what programs will do this on Windows, though and I haven't bothered to find out since I don't use it.

Hello folks.
I don't know if this topic has been up before, but whatever...
Does anyone know wich application one should use to make an audiobook from multiple audio CDs into a complete audiobook in a m4b-file?
I'd be very happy if you have good and easy suggestions.
I take both Mac and Windows :)

Kind regards / Med vennlig hilsen
