Have you tried googling second life? the top search result will tell
you all you need to know and more. Not meaning to be harsh, but just
pointing this out along the same lines as Cara's repeated nettiquette
requests. It saves list traffic and you'd have had an answer a few
hours ago. If a quick google doesn't turn up an answer to a
mainstream thing like this, then yep, it's probably time to ask on
here.
Anyway, seeing as I'm posting, it'd be daft not to answer. Second
life is a game, or maybe more of an environment, I think the term
they
use is a 3d virtual reality or something similarly swanky. It's
elements of stratergy and roleplay and social networking and
potential
product placement and all sorts of other stuff roled into one big
daddy web 2.0 addictive timekiller lol. If you're interested in
knowing more about it, www.secondlife.com would be a good place to
start to familiarise yourself with the product. Keep an eye on the
accessibility threads on the list too if it interests you, I hope to
get time to start investigating the new stuff related to this soon
along with Orin and the others and no doubt we'll all post back with
our findings.
