scanning and ocr on the mac

Hi all,
I'm new to the list and have been really enjoying the messages I've  
read so far. I don't have my own mac but my fiance has a mac and  
lately, I've been playing around with voiceover. As I've been using it  
more, I've really liked what I see and now I kind of want a mac. But  
anyway, I have a quick question and haven't been able to talk to  
actual users. For those of you who are exclusively using the mac and  
do a lot of scanning and OCR, what program do you use? I know there  
are some lists of accessible scanning and OCR programs online but I  
was just wondering if you could comment on how you like them and how  
they compare to the windows programs if you've used them, like  
kurzweil and openbook. Do you find that it's just as powerful as the  
windows programs?
