interesting. When I copied things from the external HD back over to
the internal drive things worked OK. I had some other issues, but
Josh's tip about Itunes preferences appears to have fixed them.
Good luck figuring this out!

Hi listers,
I am experiencing some strange behavior and am hoping someone can
help.
Recently, I copied a folder with a substantial amount of music from
an external drive. The folder was about 18 GB in size. Here's the
interesting part.
Although finder shows that my available disk space has been
decreased by 18 GB, the finder only shows the music folder as being
4 GB in size. Similarly, I can only view the 4 GB or so of music.
The rest of the files are there but inaccessible.
Thinking the folder was corrupt, I deleted it. However, I only got 4
GB of space back. There's still about 14 gigs that finder says is no
longer free, and yet I can't see the files occupying that space.
What's going on here? Do I not have permission to view the rest of
the files in that folder? How do I go about reclaiming my disk
space? I don't even care about the music at this point, I just
really want this fixed.
Thanks for any info about this.
Sincerely,
John
